If you are moving out of a laboratory, a Laboratory Check-Out Form must be completed.  The EHRS Department can assist you in sorting through your surplus chemicals. Cleanout of entire laboratories is costly, and may result in the discovery of unknown chemicals. Chemicals which are not labeled or do not contain any type of description cannot be transported or disposed of by the University and they are extremely expensive to analyze. Researchers should fully investigate and provide any information available regarding what the chemical may be to EHRS.

If an unlabeled chemical has crystallized or there is any other indication that a chemical may be unstable, DO NOT TOUCH IT! Contact EHRS (X8925, X8843) immediately.

Please contact the EHRS Department at X8925, X8843 or X3141 if you have any questions concerning the disposal of chemicals.
