Online Writing Tutors Available

The Writing Center is open for business! The USciences Writing Center offers both face-to-face and online virtual tutoring sessions. This e-mail is meant to inform the campus community about our online tutoring services. We have three online tutors, McKenzie Baker, a professional tutor, and two graduate-level tutors, Sarah Cook and Emily Stephens. Online tutoring is just as effective as traditional face-to-face tutoring and much more convenient for busy students. Have a hectic schedule? No problem! Our online tutors are available for night and weekend appointments! Instructions on how to set up an online tutoring session can be found on our website at http://www.usciences.edu/writing/online_tutoring.shtml Sessions, although virtual, are just as thorough and personal as traditional face-to-face tutoring appointments. Online tutors will review your paper/project and then schedule an appointment with you. At the appointment you will “meet” with a tutor via a webinar session. This online session is similar to a Skype conversation where you will be able to hear and interact with your tutor while reviewing the assignment. It is HIGHLY recommended that you set up your online tutoring session early and not wait until 1-2 days before your assignment is due. If you have any questions regarding our online tutoring service contact Sarah Cook at scook@mail.usciences.edu
