Research Day

14th Annual Research Day
April 7, 2016

The goals of Research Day are to recognize the research efforts of faculty members and students by showcasing the diversity and growth of research pursuits on campus, and to honor Dr. John C. Krantz, Jr., through our annual distinguished lecture program.

Because of the University's size and the fact that the University is a science-based institution, most undergraduate students can conduct research with faculty early in their academic careers. Research Day encourages and promotes communication and collaboration between investigators at the University.

29th Annual Krantz Lecturer

The John C. Krantz, Jr., Distinguished Lecture was established in 1984 in honor and memory of John Christian Krantz, Jr., PhD, who was the chairman of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine from 1932 to 1965. Dr. Krantz served 13 years as a member of the board of trustees. Through the annual lecture, the University continues to honor Dr. Krantz’s distinguished career, humanitarianism and his positive influence on generations of physicians and medical scientists.
