The NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) announced the 2009-10 recipients of the DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards presented by WeatherPORT. Twenty-four student athletes from University of the Sciences were among 3,022 athletes recognized from 97 Division II institutions by the DII ADA. The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student athletes at the Division II level.
In order to be recognized as an Academic Achievement Award recipient, the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and be an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
USciences’ 24 honorees were the third largest number of student athletes from a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) school honored, trailing only Holy Family University’s 30 honorees and Caldwell Colleges’ 26 honorees. Thirteen of the Devils 24 honorees earned recognition for the second-consecutive year and there was at least one student athlete from every sport represented on the list.
