Dr. Peter J. Miller Joins PCP as Associate Dean of Assessment

Peter J. Miller, PhD, has been appointed to the position of associate dean of assessment and accreditation at USciences' Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Miller is an accomplished academic administrator, an award winning educator, and has an excellent record of service and scholarship. Prior to joining the faculty at USciences in 1993, he served on the faculty at Long Island University and Temple University. Dr. Miller has held numerous administrative positions at the University including director of the BS health sciences program, director of academic assessment, associate dean of Samson College of Health Sciences, executive director of assessment, senior vice president, chief of staff, and most recently as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs.

His special expertise is in the area of assessment, and he has led the University in developing a comprehensive assessment program of academic, operational, and administrative areas. Dr. Miller has been active in accreditation serving the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, American Council on Education, and the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. He has been very active in service at the University, College, and Department levels and is well known as the chief marshall at commencement and other University special events.

Dr. Miller has practiced as a physical therapist at numerous institutions in Missouri, New York, New Jersey, and most recently, at Living Independently for Elders (LIFE) at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. He is the recipient of the Alpha Chi Science Professor Award and the Patricia Leahy Award for Learning Innovation on two occasions for each award.  He earned a BS in physical therapy at New York University, an MS  in health science) at Washington University, and a PhD in educational psychology from Temple University.
