The Department of Student Life is welcoming the new semester with its annual charity auction, Make a Deal for a USP Devil, which will take place on February 5, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the McNeil STC, AstraZeneca Auditorium. This fantastic event gives our students an opportunity to have fun while giving back to our community. Make a Deal for a USP Devil is a charity auction that allows students to bid on items such as dinner with a Student Affairs Staff member, a dinner at a local restaurant, a fitness package to a local gym, or a trendy hair style and a relaxing facial from an exclusive beauty salon.

Based upon its previous years' successes, the Department of Student Life is continuing this USP tradition to create changes in the Philadelphia community.  With the generous contributions of numerous local businesses and support from the USP community, the auction raised $2,000 in proceeds last year.  Seventy-five percent of the money was allocated to Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance (MANNA) and twenty-five percent of the money was given to USP Community Service Funds.  MANNA is a non-profit organization that provides direct nutritional support and promotes wellness through nutritional counseling and education to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.  Please visit www.mannapa.org for more information.

The Department of Student Life is seeking contributions from faculty and staff of any sort, such as, a resume paper package, a dinner with the faculty or staff member, or art piece that could be donated.  For more information, contact Ross W. Radish, Administrator of Residence Life and Off Campus Living at 215-596-8708.
