The American Society of Pharmacognosy held its annual meetings at the International Congress on Natural Products Research (ICNPR) in New York City from July 25-August 1, 2012. About 1,300 people attended from 66 countries, including facluty from USciences.
Papers and posters were presented or coauthored by several USciences biology faculty including Drs.John Porter, Bela Peethambaran, and Ara Der Marderosian, Post-Doctoral Researcher Kyung Ah Koo, and graduate students Dan Tian PhD'14 and Jameson Lindberg PhD'14.
The presentations and posters included: “Identification of novel phytotoxins from Australian range plants linked to severe mammalian digestive toxicity,” “Study of cytotoxic compounds derived from natural products,” “Effects of 14-3-3 λ on the biosynthesis of flavonoids in Arabidopsis thaliana,” and “A rapid qualitative analysis of natural products by atmospheric solids analysis probe mass spectrometry (ASAP-MS).”
