Dr. Laura Waite was named assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at University of the Sciences.
Her teaching responsibilities in the University’s Philadelphia College of Pharmacy will include teaching the pharmacy and therapeutics and case studies courses.
Dr. Waite’s research interests include student assessment, diabetes, lipids, and renal disease. She is currently researching ways to evaluate the implementation of advanced clinical pharmacy services in a non-academic community hospital.
Prior to being appointed assistant professor at USciences, Dr. Waite held numerous positions at other educational institutions. She was most recently the assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Midwestern University of Chicago’s College of Pharmacy with a practice site at Edward Hospital and Health Services. Before that, she was adjunct faculty at University of Florida while working simultaneously, at different times, as an adult internal medicine clinical specialist at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a cardiovascular clinical science manager at Abbott Labs, and an adult internal medicine clinical specialist at Florida Hospital Orlando.
Dr. Waite received her PharmD from University of Texas at Austin.
