The Pennsylvania General Assembly passed a resolution on April 12, 2011, honoring Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the nation’s first college of pharmacy. Fittingly, the resolution comes as University of the Sciences is celebrating its 190th Anniversary.
Resolution No. 212, stated, “Honoring the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first college of pharmacy in North America. WHEREAS, The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, founded in 1821, is renowned as the first college of pharmacy in North America … RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first college of Pharmacy in North America.”
The resolution was sponsored by a number of representatives, including James R. Roebuck, who represents the 188th Legislative District in which USciences falls under.
