Lighten your backpack and bulk up your wallet – Cash for Books is back, Bookstore and Musicians on Call form partnership

Running low on money as the term draws to a close? Need some extra cash? Selling unwanted textbooks back to the bookstore at the end of the term is a great way to solve cash-flow problems thanks to the USciences Bookstore Cash for Books program.

While you can sell books back to the bookstore throughout the year, the best time is at the end of the term during finals week. Prices paid for books vary depending on whether an instructor is using the same textbook next term. If the bookstore knows a book will be reused next term, they can pay 50% until they obtain the needed inventory. Once the bookstore has purchased the amount of books needed for next term, buy back prices will decrease. Just bring your used textbooks and student ID to the USciences Bookstore during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Remember, the bookstore will buy back books regardless of where they were purchased.

To find out if your textbook is being used next term, visit the uspbookstore.bncollege.com website or www.mybookvalue.com. Textbooks sold back to the bookstore also help reduce textbook expenses next term. The more textbooks the bookstore buys back now, the more used books it will have for sale next term, and used books are 25% less than new, printed textbooks.

Additionally, this spring, selling books back does even more than help put cash in your pocket it also helps support a worthy cause. Barnes & Noble College, which operates the USciences Bookstore, has entered into a long-term partnership with Musicians On Call (MOC) to provide financial and promotional support to this worthy organization. Musicians On Call is a non-profit organization that delivers live, in-room performances by local musicians to patients at area hospitals. Barnes & Noble College will donate a portion of the Cash for Books dollars paid out at each of their more than 630 campus bookstores to MOC. Watch for more programs and promotions throughout the year in support of MOC.

For more information about the Cash for Books program, contact the bookstore at 267-295-3286.
