Bringing a decade of experience in higher education and alumni relations, Nancy Shils has joined Institutional Advancement as the manager of alumni relations.
As the University’s liaison to the Alumni Association, Shils will work to support the Association’s mission to foster a strong sense of shared history and tradition among alumni, faculty, and students by encouraging personal and professional involvement in the University community.
Before joining University of the Sciences, Shils held a senior associate position at Nyman Group, a full service consulting firm providing executive coaching, organizational consulting and leadership development. Prior to that role, she served over 10 years as the associate director for Alumni Affairs and Annual Giving at the Wharton School. At Wharton Shils endeavored to foster long-term relationships between the school and the alumni association through reunions, global conferences, and student-alumni joint programs and events.
Earlier in her career, Shils spent seven years in Europe as an advisor to international firms, assisting American business associates with cultural integration and client relationship management.
Shils is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She holds master’s degrees from UPenn in Organizational Dynamics and in Higher Education Management. She is currently a doctoral candidate and working on a dissertation in the area of board governance.
