University of the Sciences in Philadelphia athletic director and former Drexel University basketball player Bobby Morgan has been selected to the Colonial Athletic Association's (CAA) 2009 Men's Basketball Legends Class. Morgan will be recognized at the CAA Men's Basketball Championship banquet on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Richmond, Virginia.

The CAA proudly recognizes men's basketball legends from each of the conference's 12 institutions prior to the start of their conference championship tournament. Morgan will become the eighth Drexel University legend to be honored by the CAA.

Morgan played at Drexel from 1958-1961 under longtime coach Sam Cozen. In his three years at Drexel, Morgan scored 944 points and averaged 17.8 points per game, an average that still ranks fourth on Drexel's all time list. Morgan is also tenth on the Dragon's all-time free throw percentage list, connecting on 75.7% during his career. Morgan was named Mid Atlantic Conference Most Valuable Player three times and was a three-time Herb Good Basketball Association All-Small College Team selection. Morgan was named the Outstanding Small College basketball player by the Herb Good Basketball Association in 1961 and was selected to the Small College All-American Team that same year.

Morgan's stellar college career earned him induction into Drexel's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984, the first of five Hall of Fame inductions, including the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994 and the NAIA Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004. He was also one of 20 former Drexel greats selected to their All-Millennium Team in 2000.
