Open roles have been filled for The Center for Chemical Biology and Translational Medicine (CCBTM), a joint effort between University of the Sciences, The Wistar Institute, and other partners. Wistar Principal Investigator Dr. Paul Lieberman, who was named the McNeil Professor of Molecular Medicine and Translational Research in June, has added Dr. Voki Pophristic, interim chemistry chair, as the head of the chemical synthesis unit and assistant director of the CCBTM.
In addition, Dr. Rod Wigent, USciences College of Graduate Studies dean and director of research, along with Provost Dr. Russell J. DiGate will serve as members of the executive committee of the CCBTM governing the center. Dr. Adeboye Adejare, pharmaceutical sciences chair, will serve as a member of the center’s Scientific Advisory Committee.
The CCBTM is designed to promote the drug discovery process in an academic environment and includes both a high throughput screening facility and chemical synthesis unit.
