It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Cephalon, Inc. Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dr. Frank Baldino, Jr., on Thursday evening, Dec. 16, 2010, after a lengthy illness. This is a tragic loss of a great professional, leader, scientist, husband, and father. A statement on the company website called Frank a "pioneer in the biotechnology industry" and “an inspirational leader.”
Frank has served on our Board of Trustees since 2008. On Founders’ Day in 2007, we honored his accomplishments and entrepreneurial spirit with an honorary doctorate in science.
