The Office of Inter-Professional Education sponsored 138 physical therapy and occupational therapy students’ participation in the Martin Luther King Day of Service on January 16, 2012.
Four physical therapy faculty members, Dr. Marc Campolo, Dr. Greg Thielman, Eric Folkins, and Kimberly Ward worked with the students cleaning up green space around Woodlands Cemetary. Some students participated in several food drives in the area.
Later, faculty from both physical therapy and occupational therapy held a workshop for the students in the afternoon reflecting on the morning activities as they related to their role as a professional and what they learned about themselves from this service activity.
