On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, about 32 USciences students volunteered with City Year to restore the Christy Recreation Center on 56th and Christian Streets. As one of the largest groups in the event, the team worked together to paint large murals on the outsides of the building and on the playgrounds. The USciences students helped transform Christy Recreation Center into a brighter, cleaner, and safer place for children to learn and play at after-school programs, summer camps, and other enrichment activities.
