Leonard S. Jacob B’70, MD, PhD, HonDSc’08, was presented with Annual Alumni Award at University of the Sciences’ Alumni Reunion on Sept. 29, 2012. The Alumni Award is presented to an individual who has contributed in outstanding fashion to the professions, to science, and/or to mankind.

Dr. Jacob, who is currently chairman of the board of Antares Pharma, Inc., has overseen the development of seven prescribed drugs impacting human health and is the named inventor on six patents.
In addition to his role at Antares, he also serves on the board of QuiqMeds, a private digital drug dispensing company; USciences; the Temple University School of Medicine; and the national board of the Colon Cancer Alliance.
In 2004, Dr. Jacob was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Temple University School of Medicine. In 2008, he was bestowed an honorary doctor of science degree from University of the Sciences. In 2010, he was given the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Drexel University School of Medicine, and in 2011, was recognized by Drexel for his achievements in clinical research and the education of students, residents, and faculty.
Dr. Jacob and his wife Sandra reside in Naples, Florida, and Villanova, Pennsylvania, and have a “blended family” of four children and three grandchildren.
