Bringing more than a decade of diversified experience in human resource management, Jim Aromando has joined University of the Sciences in Philadelphia as director of Benefits & HR Services.
Aromando is charged to provide strategic HR leadership and consultation to the University in the areas of benefits design and administration, data management and administration, and compliance reporting. He will direct the HR Customer Service Center for the University, while working to manage the increasing challenges presented by rising costs of healthcare, disability, and other benefits programs.
Prior to joining University of the Sciences, Aromando served as vice president of Human Resources at Jevic Transportation Inc. During his 11 years with the company, Aromando provided HR leadership for 2,000 employees with 11 operating facilities in ten states, managing talent acquisition, restructuring, development and training, compensation and benefits, and employee labor relations. Prior to that role, Aromando served as human resources administrator at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC).
Aromando is an active member of the Tri-State Human Resource Association (TSHRA) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), with a certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). In May 2008, he completed a chapter in the book Inside the Minds: Capitalizing on HR Trends, an insider’s perspective on identifying, assessing, and harnessing the power of today’s most important trends in human resources, published by Aspatore Books.
Aromando is a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a focus on human resources management and organizational behavior. He currently resides in Marlton, N.J., with his family.
