University of the Sciences hosted the inaugural luncheon of The Remington Society on Saturday, September 24 during Alumni Reunion weekend. Members were inducted into the Society and recognized for their incredible support by fellow Remington member Kathleen Mayes, current member of the Board of Trustees and alumna from the Class of 1976.
The Remington Society replaces the Benefactor Society and recognizes anyone who makes a gift or commitment that will support University of the Sciences in the future. Gifts that support our future include, but are not limited to, establishing an endowment, including the University in your Will, or making the University the beneficiary of a trust or insurance policy.
The Society is named in honor of one of our earliest supports of this unique way of giving – former dean, professor and alumnus Joseph Price Remington. Remington left the University a portion of the royalties of his gold standard textbook,
Remington: The Science & Practice of Pharmacy
. Now in its 22nd edition, Remington’s gift continues to benefit the University to this day.
