For the University of the Sciences American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter, October is a month of celebration. Recognized annually as American Pharmacists Month, October is a time to recognize the significant contributions to healthcare and the commitment to patient care by pharmacists in all practice settings around the country.

NBC Today Show Hosts Meredith Vieira and Al Roker recognized APhA-ASP students. Click here to watch the video.

The theme this year is “Know Your Medicine. Know Your Pharmacist,” and the University’s APhA-ASP chapter planned a host of activities to draw attention to the profession. The month-long celebration kicked-off on Thursday, Oct. 1, when the students trekked to New York City to promote American Pharmacists Month on NBC’s Today Show. On Saturday, Oct. 17, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy hosted its annual White Coat Ceremony to honor 2013 doctor of pharmacy students for their commitment to the health profession.
