Wolbach Named Interim Associate Dean of Misher College

Kevin Wolbach, lecturer of biology, has agreed to step in as interim associate dean of Misher College of Arts and Sciences beginning of August 2012. He replaces Dr.  William Law, vice dean of Misher College,who will be leaving the University at the end of July 2012.
 
Wolbach received his BS in biology from Muhlenberg College and his MS in biology from Lehigh University.  After working at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, and five years studying local rivers and streams with The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, Wolbach joined PCP&S in 1992 as an instructor of biology.  He was promoted to lecturer of biology in 2007, and he has served the Department of Biological Sciences in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility; including program director of the BS in environmental science, director of undergraduate studies, and for the past two and a half years, interim assistant chair.
 
Dr. Law has accepted the position of dean of the School of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) at Purdue University-Calumet, part of the Purdue University system. Dr. Law has made many contributions since he joined USciences in 2005, first as chair of the Department of Biological Sciences and more recently as vice dean of Misher College of Arts and Sciences.  Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Law provided oversight of expanded degree offerings in biological sciences, including its first PhD program, and he developed the Forensic Science program.  He was responsible for establishing numerous affiliation and articulation agreements allowing students to go on to a medical professional schools.  He worked closely with Misher departments to arrange for seamless transfer of students from community colleges as well as developing a novel bi-directional articulation agreement with The Pennsylvania State University-Brandywine campus.  He was also instrumental in the evolution of the pre-health science professional program.
