The spring 2012 Accepted Student Event Series came to a close on Sunday, April 15, 2012, to resounding success. USciences hosted 574 total accepted students (1,722 inclusive of family and friends) and 1,722 at the four events within the series.
Accepted students and their families enjoyed an active day on campus that included a Taste of Philly Campus Tour featuring popular Philadelphia foods. Academic sessions were included in the day, allowing accepted students and their families to engage in academic conversation and explore minor options. A special financial aid session dedicated to discussing the cost and value of a USciences education was also provided. Finally, students had the opportunity to attend a student’s only question and answer session with USciences Ambassadors. This session was designed to allow accepted students the chance to speak with current students in a relaxed environment.
While accepted students attended the student session, parents were encouraged to attend a parent panel where they had the opportunity to speak with representatives from Campus Safety, the Student Health and Counseling Center, Residence Life, alumni, current students, and parents of current students. A transfer advising session was the third piece in this audience centered portion of the day.
The Accepted Student Day is designed to give students one last in-depth look at what life is like at USciences before making a final college choice. The event is an opportunity for the campus community to tell the USciences story and for accepted students to determine if USciences is a good fit for their college future. Many students who attended indicated that USciences ranks among their top three college choices.
