Join One Big Book Club on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Rosenberger Hall 102 for an evening of Persian food, film, and conversation. The evening will center on the screening of Jafar Panahi’s Persian film “Offside” that takes an inside look at women in Iranian society.
Following the film, Dr. Pardis Minuchehr from the Department of Near Eastern Languages & Civilization at the University of Pennsylvania will lead participants through a lively discussion.
To enhance the evening, a selection of Persian food will give students a more fulfilling experience of the Persian culture.
Multicultural Affairs, the Muslim Students Association, the Middle Eastern Society, and the Middle East Center at the University of Pennsylvania join One Big Book Club in sponsoring this free event.
The evening is inspired by One Big Book Club’s selection of Persepolis II: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi as the 2009 reading selection.
