Grad Student’s Imagery Used for ACS Brochure
Posted: Monday, April 23, 2012

The cover image for the brochure for the Computational Division of the ACS National meeting in San Diego March 25-29, 2012, was created by Thuy Hien Nguyen C’04, PhD’16.

“This is a G-protein-coupled chemokine receptor, CXCR4 (PDB ID: 3odu), and is implicated in HIV-1 infection and cancer metastasis. CXCR4 is embedded within a lipid bilayer in an aqueous environment. This image was created using Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD).”

Nguyen works under the direction of Associate Professor Preston B. More. Her research is funded by NASA’s Harriet Jenkins Pre-doctoral Fellowship.
