Three future pharmacists had the opportunity to promote their profession at Philadelphia’s City Hall on Thursday, Oct. 25 as part of American Pharmacists Month. Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and Director of Legislation & Special Events Anjali Chainani MS’14 paved the way for the students - Ashley Krumenacker PharmD’15, Antonella Frattarelli PharmD’15, and Jonathan Feathers PharmD’15 - to set up a table outside the Councilwoman’s office to educate people on the important role of pharmacists.
In addition, the students displayed a proclamation signed by Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter, that was spearheaded by Mayes College Executive Director of External Affairs Mary Kate McGinty, P’84, MS ’04, declaring October 2012 American Pharmacists’ Month in the city.
Each October, the American Pharmacists Association uses the month to educate the public to "Know Your PHARMACIST, Know Your MEDICINE" in the safe and effective use of medications as well as the valuable knowledge that pharmacists provide as part of healthcare.
