Kimberly A. Bryant was recently named director of the Career Services Department at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Previously, she had been serving as the career counselor at the University and had been overseeing the department for more than a year.
“In the absence of a full-time director, Kimberly successfully managed the department, and maintained all student career services and recruitment events,” said Dr. William G. Cunningham, Jr., dean of students. “As director, her strategic leadership will continue to guide the department in its role of helping students on their career paths.”
The Career Services Department provides a wide variety of services to assist students in determining their career paths. The department offers counseling, assessment, workshops (ranging from the art of resume writing to salary negotiations), and a variety of creative programs, from seminars for first-year students to recruitment events for graduating students. In addition, Bryant is planning to develop an alumni advisory panel to benefit students as well as establishing closer relationships between the University and recruiting employers.
Prior to joining University of the Sciences, Bryant was a human tissue and organ procurement specialist for the National Disease Research Interchange. Earlier in her career, she was a juvenile case manager for the Lighthouse Incorporation, a non-profit settlement house in Philadelphia. She earned a bachelor of science in biology from Miles College in Fairfield, Ala., and a master of arts degree from St. Joseph’s University.
Bryant, a native of Birmingham Ala., currently resides in Lansdowne, Pa.
