University of the Sciences and the New York University (NYU) Study Abroad Program have renewed an articulation agreement that has allowed eligible USciences students to study for a full semester at NYU campuses in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. Thanks to the renewal, USciences students will retain access to the NYU network of global academic centers, located in some of the world’s most dynamic cities.

In selecting NYU as partner, USciences chose a prestigious university with a longstanding commitment to international education. This commitment underscores the global nature of the NYU mission and includes a wide range of initiatives, both in the United States and abroad. The NYU tradition of facilitating the exchange of knowledge by enabling students to study abroad began in 1958 with the founding of NYU Madrid. Since the 1950s, NYU has greatly expanded the international opportunities offered to students.Global Academic Centers that USciences students have access to are located in:

  • Accra, Ghana
  • Berlin, Germany
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Florence, Italy
  • London, England
  • Madrid, Spain
  • Paris, France
  • Prague, the Czech Republic
  • Shanghai, China

At USciences, the Education Abroad Office offers assistance to students choosing and planning a study abroad experience that best fits their academic and cultural interests. Students interested in education abroad programs should schedule a meeting with office staff early in their academic career.

With careful academic planning, students can study abroad without delaying graduation. For instance, the NYU Global Academic Center in London offers science courses usually taken by second-year USciences students. Courses are treated as USciences courses – both credits and grades appear on transcripts.

To learn more about NYU's Study Abroad Programs and site-specific information, please go directly to their website at http://www.nyu.edu/studyabroad/about. USciences students who would like to schedule an appointment to discuss plans to study abroad should contact James Yarrish at studyabroad@usciences.edu.
