Claudine El-Beyrouty PharmD’00, BCPS, was honored at the 28th Annual Eastern States Conference (ESC) for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors in Hershey, Pa., on April 29, 2009. Dr. El-Beyrouty received the Louis P. Jeffrey Award for distinguished service to the profession of pharmacy and commitment to residency training.
The award is given annually to an Easter States Conference Preceptor who has demonstrated leadership in ESC pharmacy practice, an ongoing commitment to residency training excellence, a significant past or ongoing contribution to ESC and profession, and shown high moral character, good citizenship, and high professional ideals.
Dr. El-beyrouty is an advanced practice pharmacist with a focus on antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Additionally, she is director and preceptor of the hospital’s Specialized Residency in Infectious Diseases program.
The Louis P. Jeffrey Award is named in honor of the founder of the Eastern States Conference. The late Dr. Jeffrey dedicated his career in hospital pharmacy to the development of young talent and the perpetuation of the nobility of mentorship.
