Graduates from University of the Sciences are amongst the top 15 highest earning in the country, according to data released by online salary-tracking company PayScale.com in its 2010-11 College Salary Report.
Tied for 11th on the list, USciences’ graduates earn a median salary of $113,000 annually at mid-career. USciences graduates are the second highest earning in Pennsylvania topping local institutions such as University of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, Lafayette College, and Swarthmore College.
“Students at USciences are primed for successful futures as they are provided strong foundations for lifelong careers in the most vital of industries,” said USciences Provost Dr. Russell J. DiGate.
To compile its 2010-11 College Salary Report, PayScale collected data from surveys completed by individuals who solely possessed a bachelor's degree and no higher degrees; graduated from a United States institution; and held a full-time position paid on an hourly basis or annual salary. PayScale tracked the median salaries of full-time employees with five years of experience or less in their field and median salaries of full-time employees with at least 10 years of experience in their field. The analysis is comprised of information from 999 schools including private institutions, liberal arts schools, state schools, and art and design schools.
According to the report, USciences is ranked seventh on the list of all northeast colleges by salary potential and recognized as the top college for pharmacy, graduating the highest percentage of individuals practicing in the field. PayScale also noted that while mid-career salaries fell 1.5 percent overall between 2009 and 2010, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians continued to earn top salaries.
