Reference services are available from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Wednesday, and to 5:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, when school is in regular session. We’ll also give you information by phone at 215 596-8967 or online, via Ask A Librarian.
Professors may place print materials on reserve for students. Textbooks are not routinely available from the Reserve Collection. Reserves may be borrowed for two hours (can be extended if nobody else is waiting for the material). Reserve materials may not be taken out of the Library. A valid USciences ID card is required to borrow these materials.
The library receives about 400 print periodicals which are shelved alphabetically on the second floor, and over 11,000 electronic titles are available on the campus network. See Our Journal List for specific titles and availability.
In addition to thousands of electronic journals,
the J. W. England Library subscribes to many different electronic
databases, including those that contain citations only
(no fulltext); databases with some links to fulltext articles;
databases that are completely fulltext; collections of journals
from a particular publisher; and special resources such as encyclopedias,
reference sources, and eBooks.
Call or stop by the Reference Desk for help in using any of these
materials (215 596-8967) or online, via Ask
A Librarian
Need to do a literature search? Reference librarians are available to help in identifying resources and formulating effective search strategies. A librarian is available in person from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Wednesday, and until 5:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, when school is in regular session. We're also available by phone at 215 596-8967 or online, via Ask A Librarian.
Students may check out books from the circulating collection for 4 weeks, with one renewal. All materials must be returned at the end of the current semester. You can use E-ZBorrow request books that USciences does not own directly from 50 other academic libraries. To check out books, you’ll need a valid USciences ID card. For questions, or to renew materials, please call Circulation at 215 596-8960.
Books and journal articles, not owned by this library may be requested
through the library’s homepage.
Use E-ZBorrow
to request a book and use ILLiad
to obtain a copy of an article. See the Library's Interlibrary
Loan pages for more information on obtaining materials
from other libraries.
USciences students may use other libraries in the Delaware Valley, but each library has different rules. With a letter from us, you can check out books at Drexel and 35 other TCLC college libraries. See Using Other Libraries for information on how you may use various libraries in the area.
The Library monitors and responds to your suggestions. If you would like to submit a suggestion, comment, complaint, or compliment, please use this box, which is located on the first floor of the Library, near the elevator. You may also email your suggestions directly to the Library Director.
