May Commencement and Conferment Ceremonies at USciences: The 194th commencement ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 1 p.m., in the Liacouras Center at Temple University. The keynote speakers are James C. Appleby P’87, RRh, MPH, executive director and CEO of the Gerontological Society of America; and Stephen G. Brush, distinguished University of Maryland professor of the history of science (Emeritus). The fourth Bachelor's Degree Conferment Ceremony is set for Friday, May 15, at noon, in the ARC. Alumnus Keith Marmer MPT’89, DPT’04, MBA’10 will be the keynote speaker.
USciences at the 2015 Philadelphia Science Festival: A citywide collaboration that runs April 24-May 2, the PSF unites 210 of the region's most influential institutions and museums to showcase science and technology. USciences is a sponsor and will participate in the Science Carnival on the Parkway on May 2.

Harry J. Leonhardt, Esq. P'79, was appointed as senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. He most recently served as senior vice president of legal and compliance, and corporate secretary for Amylin Pharmaceuticals.
Janice E. Miner P'88 recently participated in a roundtable discussion about family businesses. She said the key to keeping her family-owned pharmacy profitable is to focus on the benefits a small, family-operated pharmacy provides.
Michelle Stringer DPT'11 was featured in an article in the Journal of the San Juan Islands, entitled, "Meet your local firefighter."
Jessica Kaminski PharmD’13 completed her Captains Career Course, a training that every captain in the United States Army attends. She specializes in “army medicine." The course was completed at Fort Sam, Houston, Texas, with other army captains, including doctors, physician assistants, physical therapists, nurses, psychologists, healthcare administrators, and other pharmacists.

Alumni Gathered in Nashville During AOTA Conference
USciences alumni, faculty, and students had the opportunity to mingle which each other during a Nashville Alumni Reception on April 17. This event was held during the American Occupational Therapy Association's Annual Conference & Expo and gave alumni the chance to network, see old friends, and hear the latest news from USciences.
PCP Alumni Reunited at APhA Conference in Cali
USciences was well-represented at the recent American Pharmacists Association (APhA) meeting in San Diego, and pharmacy students, alumni, and faculty networked with their peers at various events. USciences co-hosted a reception for Pennsylvania Pharmacy Association’s alumni members on March 28, and the event attracted alumni, faculty, and students. The Office of Alumni Relations also hosted an alumni reception on March 29.
