Groundbreaking for STCII: A groundbreaking ceremony for the Science and Technology Center II was held on Feb. 21, 2013. When doors open in spring 2014, the STCII will be a showcase for the latest facilities necessary for growth and expansion of collaborative clinical and professional education. Dr. Heidi M. Anderson Named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs: Dr. Anderson comes to USciences after 11 years at the University of Kentucky and will begin her USciences tenure on July 1, 2013.

1951
A play by Peter Mark Richman P’51 will be produced and performed at the Beit Lessin Theater in Tel Aviv, Israel, a top reputed, 900-seat theater and the second largest repertory in the country.  He has just signed the contract and A Medal For Murray to be translated into Hebrew.

1955
Alan J. Vogenberg P’55 recently fulfilled the requirements for qualification as a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Mr. Vogenberg has practiced pharmacy in Bucks county for over 50 years, as owner of Alan’s Pharmacy in Bristol and former president of Windsor Pharmacy in Levittown.

1975
Gary J. Starecheski P’75 was recently named Pharmacist of the Year by the Vermont Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He is clinical staff pharmacist at Fletcher Allen Healthcare Academic Medical Center. The focus of his practice includes intensive care and patient and professional education. He currently lives in Richmond, VT.

Patricia Kienle P’75, MA, and a recipient of the 1990 Young Alumnus Award, was among those named on a patent issued for Methods and Systems for Storing Medical Supplies (U.S. Patent Number 8355929). Learn more here.

P.J. Ortmann
, P’77, MBA, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Educational Foundation.

1980
Mark A. Strollo P’80 (MS’85 Drexel University) received a doctorate of pharmacy degree from Howard University on July 14, 2012. He is senior vice president of operations at Biomed Pharmaceuticals. Mark currently resides in Wallingford, PA and Lewes, DE.

South Florida Alumni, Feb. 17, 2013
South Florida Alumni gathered at Latitudes Restaurant for brunch to meet president Dr. Helen Giles-Gee and hear her vision for the future of the University. Alumni and friends connected and caught up with each other while sipping mimosas and feasting on a fabulous buffet. This was the fourth town on President Giles-Gee's Whistle Stop Tour at which she has met alumni from around the country.
