Team effort! New students taking part in summer orientation had to work together to score a basket by lifting a basketball with foam noodles. USciences hosted three, two-day orientation sessions in June filled with not only ice-breaker activities but important info about the University for new students.

Joseph L. Fink III P’70 (JD’73 Georgetown University) was named the Kentucky Pharmacists Association (KPhA) Professor of Leadership. He was formally recognized at KPhA’s annual meeting in June 2012.

Thomas F. Genco P’78 proudly announces the graduation of his son Andrew T. Genco, who received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of the Sciences on May 23, 2012. Also in attendance were Andrew’s mother Gail and sister Laura. Andrew graduated summa cum laude and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Rho Chi. He received both the Merck award and the Johnson & Johnson award for academic achievement.

Nathan Lipshutz P'53 passed away on May 31, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria; three sons; and six grandchildren. Mr. Lipshutz owned and operated Raker's Pharmacy at 2967 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia from 1957 until his retirement in 1997.

PCP Post-Baccalaureate PharmD Reunion

Over 100 alumni and guests traveled to campus this past April 21st to celebrate the PCP Post-BS PharmD Reunion. The day’s events included a nostalgic tour of the campus and buildings, a cocktail party, dinner and a program honoring the faculty and staff who were instrumental in launching the program in the late 60’s. DCPA Dinner
The Delaware County Pharmacists Association (DCPA) held its annual dinner honoring both new pharmacy graduates and 50-year pharmacy graduates. Those honored, representing various Pennsylvania pharmacy schools, are living or working in Delaware County and are members of DCPA. The dinner, held on May 10 at D’Ignazio’s Towne House in Media, PA, included a special Dedicated Alumnus recognition of Daniel Hussar P’62, MS’64, PhD’67, presented by John Gans P’66, PharmD’69.

Young Alumni Happy Hour
Sixty-five alumni between years 2000-2012 attended the annual young alumni happy hour on June 7 at Mill Creek Tavern, better known as the Track and Turf. It was the best turnout the event ever. Everyone had a great time reconnecting and reminiscing about their days at the University-only without an exam to worry about!

When Wilson Express and Starbucks are closed, the bookstore is a great place for all kinds of snacks and beverages or just a fun place to relax and chat.
