A new chapter in the history of University of the Sciences opened on March 22, 2012, when Dr. Helen Giles-Gee (with, left to right, Presidential Search Committee Chair Kathleen Mayes P'76, PharmD'78 and Board Chair Marvin Samson) was introduced to the USciences community. Dr. Giles-Gee brings 30-years of experience in higher education, including the last seven years as president of Keene State College. Dr. Giles-Gee will begin her USciences tenure on July 16, 2012.

Not so "NICE": Recently the United Kingdom's (UK) National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) announced their refusal to recommend the use of three genomics diagnostic tests for breast cancer therapeutic decision-making (Oncotype DX, MammaPrint, Mammostrat) and to recommend a forth one, the Immuno Histo Chemistry-4 test, IHC4, for research of analytical validity in local laboratories only. Saturday, April 28 - Eighth Annual Lake Como 5K in memory of Grania Maggio ’94

Hosted by the Jersey Shore Running Club, this annual event is run on a scenic 5K course around Lake Como and benefits the Grania Maggio Study Abroad Fund at University of the Sciences. While a student, Grania studied physical therapy and pioneered her own curriculum to include a semester abroad. In an effort to provide the same opportunity for other deserving students, the Grania Maggio Study Abroad Fund was established in her memory.
