Back-to-School Donations Requested: Sept. 30 is the last chance to donate back-to-school supplies to benefit KIPP West Philadelphia. The Department of Campus Recreation is teaming up with the Student Recreational Committee and the Timmy Foundation to sponsor a “Back to School” Fundraiser. Please bring all donations to the ARC front counter.

Phila. Ronald McDonald House Benefit: On Thursday, Sept. 29 Campus Rec will be holding a two-hour ZUMBA class from 6 to 8 p.m. in the ARC to raise money for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.  Participants are asked to bring $5 to donate to the charity fund.

USciences’ Got Talent: With a wide range of talents on display, USciences’ Got Talent raised a little over $1,400 to benefit SCINetUSA, an organization working toward finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. iNERT!A's awesome dancing took home the grand prize of $150 while second place went to Pat Connaghan's amazing guitar playing, and third place went to the impressive hula hooping of Caroline Saporito.

Pink-A-Thon is BACK!: Pink-A-Thon is a non-profit event which raises funds for breast cancer research through The Linda Creed Foundation. The Pink-A-Thon will be held on Oct. 21 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the ARC Lobby.

Women’s Basketball Team to Face Villanova University as 2011-2012 Schedule is Announced
The USciences athletic department has announced their 2011-12 women’s basketball schedule. The Devils will play a 27-game schedule in this, their 25th season, highlighted by a game in November against Div. I Villanova University.

Team Approach: CMSRU, Cooper Health System, USciences to Collaborate on Education Model: USciences is partnering with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and the Cooper Health System to establish an interprofessional healthcare education and practice model.

A Good Start for New Students: From the heaviest refrigerator to the lightest lamp, University of the Sciences' newest students and their families started off the 2011-12 academic year with move-in day on August 26.

Presidential Search Update: The Presidential Search Committee has been named and a search firm has been chosen as the University seeks its 22nd president.

Samson Takes the Reigns as Interim President; Dr. Gerbino Bestowed with Emeritus Status: University of the Sciences Board of Trustees officially named board chairman Marvin Samson interim president, while honoring Dr. Philip P. Gerbino.

Lois K. Cohen Endowed Lecture Series in Global Health: USciences’ Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy is proud to host Dr. Sonia Ehrlich Sachs, Director of Health for the Millennium Villages Project on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.

New Bachelor’s Degree Conferment Ceremony: To Honor MOT, DrOt, DPT, and PharmD students, plans are underway to hold a new bachelor’s degree conferment ceremony in May as students continue matriculating toward their professional degrees. 

USciences Timmy Global Health Chapter Takes Eye Opening Trip to Ecuador: The trip provided first-hand experiences for students in a low-income community in a developing country.

PharmD’82 has launched a new website for his firm, Clinical Pharmacy Associates. Check it out at www.clinpharm.com.

Frank L. Nazzario
P’96 was named Trailblazer Brand Manager of the Year, Autoimmune category, by PM360 magazine for his work on Cinryze. Cinryze is a C1 esterase inhibitor for prevention of attacks of hereditary angiodema, a rare and potentially life-threatening genetic disorder. Frank is associate director of marketing for ViroPharma Incorporated.
