Position: Assistant Professor in Biology

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia invites applications for a continuing, 10-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) to begin August 15, 2014.
The department consists of 17 full-time faculty and three staff. There are ~160 undergraduate majors, divided among BS programs in Biology, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, and Environmental Science. Almost 40 full- and part-time graduate students are enrolled in the MS programs in Cell Biology & Biotechnology and the PhD program in Cell & Molecular Biology. Graduate faculty members may participate in the MS and PhD programs of the departments of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University as well. The Department of Biological Sciences is housed in the McNeil Science and Technology Center, which provides substantial opportunity for program growth.
The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. and have demonstrated teaching experience in the biological sciences. This learner-centered department requires faculty commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, student advising, service and scholarly activity. The successful candidate will preferably have a background and teaching experience in a medically related biological science such as medical microbiology, immunology, hematology, etc.
