The University of the Sciences is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in a full-time 12-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position will begin July 1st, 2013 and includes teaching, student advisement, university service and scholarship responsibilities.
The Department of Physical Therapy is one of 5 programs housed in the Samson College of Health Sciences: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Exercise Science & Wellness Management, and Health Science. The physical therapy department has 11 core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical and scholarly activities. Along with recently renovated academic facilities, the department has a comprehensive research lab and manages a pro-bono clinic that facilitates student experiential learning.
The successful candidate will be a physical therapist with 1) an earned academic doctorate in a field relevant to physical therapy, 2) clinical experience, 3) academic and or clinical teaching experience, and 4) demonstrated record of scholarship. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Expertise in adult neuromuscular physical therapy preferred, but not required. Preference will be given to candidates with American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties certification as Neurologic Clinical Specialists (NCS).
