Scholarship Giving Changes Lives

SCHOLARSHIPS START STUDENTS ON THEIR JOURNEYS. Almost all of our students need some assistance to fulfill their dreams. Despite our strong financial aid programs, 2009 USciences graduates incurred an average debt of $70,000 to $104,000, depending on their degree and the number of years they studied.

Each year donor-supported scholarships make the difference for these students, who might otherwise be left out. Many USciences students are the first in their families to go to college, become American citizens and launch careers in science and health care. You can hear some of their stories by clicking the video links below.

When you choose to support scholarships, you have several options:

  • You can add to our list of more than 150 endowed scholarships with a gift of $50,000 or more, which can be made over up to five years. USciences carefully invests your assets to provide support in perpetuity, and you can name the fund in honor of a loved one, family member or mentor, perpetuating that name as well.
  • You can make an immediate impact through non-endowed named scholarships, which begin with a minimum outright gift of $10,000 ─ or $2,000 a year over five years. Gifts for a non-endowed named scholarship can be spent right away.
  • Alumni under 40 have special opportunities. They can create an endowed scholarship with a gift of $25,000, payable over up to five years, or a non-endowed scholarship with an outright gift of $5,000 ─ or $1,000 a year over five years.
  • You can direct smaller gifts, including Annual Fund gifts, to our general scholarship fund, the foundation of our financial aid program. Every gift counts and every donor plays a role in giving USciences the capacity to sustain our financial aid program in any economic climate.

Benefits, including potential opportunities to meet your scholarship students, vary depending on your level of giving. For more information, please contact:

Thank you for considering this exceptional investment. Scholarships bring more students and their talents to USciences and, in turn, make us more competitive among peer institutions. Giving to scholarships has a deeply personal impact, enabling recipients to graduate with less debt and focus more fully on their careers in fields that are changing the world.
