How We Help

While many students come to University of the Sciences with a particular major in mind, others prefer to take some time before committing to an appropriate academic program. The University has a variety of ways to help you sort through the diverse options and settle on the path that is best for you.

Academics

  • From the beginning you’ll take coursework appropriate for your particular career goal or for entry into most of the majors offered at the university.
  • In your first year in any of our options, you may transfer into most majors as long as you meet the program’s academic requirements and your intended major has space available.

Advising

You’ll work closely with a professional advisor to set up class schedules, explore options for majors, and discuss curricular and co-curricular activities that are appropriate for the paths you’re considering.

Orientation

In orientation classes, you’ll hear from department chairs and other representatives of each major relevant to your particular option. Orientation classes will also help you make the transition to college with discussions about the skills students need to develop to succeed and about the many USciences resources available to students.
