The Misher Pre-Professional Studies—Pre-Medical Option program provides you with outstanding preparation for a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, or podiatry. Featuring a deep education in the sciences and opportunities for hands-on learning, the program exposes you to various fields in the health sciences and offers a variety of experiences so you can decide for yourself whether further medical training is for you.

You may stay in the Pre-Professional Studies—Pre-Medical Option program for up to two years while you decide which science major to pursue. But the support and mentoring from your pre-med advisor doesn’t end once you’ve chosen a major. You will transition into our pre-med advising program, where a dedicated faculty guides you through the rigors of preparing for admission into medical, dental, veterinary, optometry, or podiatric school.

According to the Medical Group Management Association’s Physician Compensation and Production Survey, median total compensation for physicians varied by their type of practice. In 2008, physicians practicing primary care had total median annual compensation of $186,044, and physicians practicing in medical specialties earned total median annual compensation of $339,738.”
