Industry Fellowship: USciences Experience

Academic Appointment

Fellows are appointed to Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice and are required to participate in a one-year, comprehensive teaching certificate training program.The program provides opportunities for didactic learning-centered activities during drug information and seminar courses and experiential teaching at practice sites

Teaching Certificate Program

The goal of the Teaching Certificate program is to provide formalized training in educational methods and opportunities to discuss contemporary issues in pharmacy education.

Certificate: Teaching Certificate
Length of the program: 12 months during post-graduate training
Eligibility: Required for all PCP post-graduate trainees

Requirements - All participants are required to complete the following tasks:

  • Complete a teaching portfolio, including a teaching philosophy statement, self-reflection and review of evaluations)
  • Small class didactic teaching
  • Large group didactic lecture (lecture objectives, handout and test questions)
  • Experiential teaching (Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience)
  • ACPE-accredited Continuing Education Presentation

Scholarly Activity/Research

The fellow is responsible for the development, management, and completion of a longitudinal research project. Under the direction of their Industry preceptor and PCP faculty, the fellow will lead the research process from development through analysis and scientific dissemination.

Professional Growth/Service

The fellow is expected to engage with PCP faculty and students while on campus. The fellow may have scheduled meetings with students, teaching responsibilities, fellowship recruitment activities, professional development workshops, or Review Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings. Fellows are expected to attend scientific conferences on behalf of PCP and J&J to support Medical Information, fellowship recruitment and research project dissemination.
