Job growth has been particularly concentrated in drug manufacturing, research and development, and analytical testing laboratories.
Strong demand is expected for chemists with MS or PhD degrees. More than 50 percent of USciences graduates in the chemical sciences continue their education by attending graduate or professional school.
Graduates of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry earn competitive salaries immediately following graduation. BS graduates in the chemical sciences (biochemistry, chemistry or pharmaceutical chemistry) earn salaries ranging from $40,000 to $60,000 upon graduating.
