Instrumental & Vocal Performance Ensembles
Typically, up to nine different chamber ensembles are offered each semester for students and faculty/staff to join. These ensembles make up the Kingsessing Players and Kingsessing Singers.
The Kingsessing Players
The Kingsessing Players include the Wind Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, String Ensemble, Brass Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. Membership in one of these groups is great for the musician who wants to continue playing an instrument, to collaborate with others and to perform. There is one rehearsal a week for each group, and everyone who rehearses with the group has the opportunity to perform at the end of the semester. Students may also register for an ensemble as a class and receive one credit per semester.
The Kingsessing Singers
The Kingsessing Singers are the vocal music groups on campus and include the Chorus, Chamber Choir and Keytones.
The Chorus is open to anyone who wishes to sing and there is no audition for membership. The Chamber Choir, composed of more advanced and independent singers, is open through audition only. The Keytones are a student directed pop a cappella group. They rehearse throughout the semester and perform at coffeehouses and other events through the year, in addition to the end of semester concerts.
The Singers (and Players) welcome all students, faculty, and staff. The choirs sing two concerts on campus and also perform in the community. This is a chance to get involved, relieve stress, and meet new people. Students may also register for the choir as a class and receive one credit per semester.
