Post-Graduate Training Salary and Benefits
The resident will be an employee of University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and will receive an annual stipend distributed over the 12-month period of the program by the payroll department at USciences ($43,000 for PGY1 and $45,000 for PGY2 Residents.
USciences benefits programs available to the resident include health, dental, disability, life insurance, USciences tuition remission, tuition reimbursement, athletic recreation center, and health care, dependent care and transit reimbursement accounts. Paid time off for the resident includes nine standard University holidays, 5 vacation days, 3 personal days, 2 floating holidays, and 5 sick days during the 12-month program. The resident will not be financially compensated for unused leave time.
Approved leaves of absence are granted per the USciences Employee Handbook Time Away from Work Policy. Resident leaves of absence cannot exceed 3 months. Leave time which exceeds unused time accrued will be unpaid. Residents do not receive benefits during a leave of absence.
The resident is encouraged to attend professional meetings and receives annual travel support of $1200.
The resident will receive a faculty appointment as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice/Pharmacy Administration.
Secretarial support for typing, word-processing, editing and formatting of resident work-related materials and correspondence will be provided (Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat). Support is also available for library work and photocopying.
The resident will have their own desk in an office shared by other residents. The resident will have access to one Microsoft Office-compatible desktop computer and printer for their personal use in their USciences office. Through USciences, the resident has access to a wide variety of Microsoft Office-based computer software programs for word processing, data management and data analysis. USciences also maintains a password protected web-based teaching tool, ANGEL, for maintaining practice site related documents such as readings, guidelines, and protocols, as well as teaching-related materials for didactic and experiential teaching.
